The NSE Nifty 50 closed 0.41% higher at 22,735.05, while the BSE Sensex closed 0.42% higher at 74,993.88.
Angel One, a fintech company, announced on Friday that it successfully secured Rs 1,500 crore via the Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) method. The funds will be utilized to support the company’s working capital needs. The shares are trading up by more than 2% at Rs 2,916 on NSE.
Coal India, BPCL, Kotak Bank, ITC, and Hindalco were the top gainers in the Nifty 50, while HDFC Life Insurance, Cipla, Maruti Suzuki, Divi’s Lab, and Shriram Finance were the major losers in the Nifty 50 on April 10.
Shares of Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC) was stuck in the lower circuit of 5% at Rs 431.10 after it announced that it is abandoning the Phase 2 study on Vodobatinib for Parkinson’s Disease. According to the company’s exchange filing, the study “failed to demonstrate superiority of Vodobatinib” as compared to placebo.
Shares of Maruti Suzuki fell 2.2% to an intraday low of Rs 12,600.90 after the company raised the prices of Swift and Grand Vitara Sigma variant. “Prices of Swift have been raised by up to Rs 25,000/- and Grand Vitara Sigma variant by Rs. 19,000/-,” said Maruti Suzuki in an exchange filing.

Shares of Protean eGov Technologies rose 6.8% to an intraday high of Rs 1,211.15 on the media reports of a secondary offering of up to around 1.5 million equity shares with a green shoe option of up to around 0.65 million equity shares.
Shares of Vedanta rose 9% to hit a 52-week high of Rs 368.30. The scrip has an upper band set at Rs 371.80, while lower at Rs 304.20. The stock touched its 52-week low of Rs 208 on September 28, 2023.
The stock of One97 Communication, the parent firm of Paytm, dipped 4% to an intra-day low of Rs 388 after Paytm Payments Bank MD & CEO Surinder Chawla submitted his resignation.
The company in an exchange filing said that Chawla tendered his resignation due to personal reasons. He also wants to “explore better career prospects.” Chawla will be relieved from his duties on June 26.

Kolte Patil’s shares witnessed a remarkable surge of almost 10% on Wednesday, April 10. This surge followed shortly after brokerage firm Motilal Oswal initiated coverage on the stock, along with a bullish ‘buy’ recommendation.
According to Motilal Oswal’s analysis, the target price for Kolte Patil has been set at Rs 700, indicating a potential upside of 34%.

Commenting on the Technical outlook of Nifty Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst, LKP Securities, said Nifty opened higher but struggled to withstand the selling pressure at elevated levels. On the hourly chart, the RSI (14) indicates bearish divergence, signaling a potential shift in price momentum towards the downside. Immediate support is observed at 22,600; a decisive drop below this level could drive the index towards 22,400. Conversely, resistance is evident at 22,770 on the higher end.
Paytm shares falls more than 3% to an intra-day low of Rs 388 on the following news that Paytm announced that Surinder Chawla, the Managing Director and CEO of its banking arm, Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL), has tendered his resignation. Effective from June 26, 2024, Chawla cited personal reasons and a desire to explore fresh career avenues for his departure.
Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, JSW Steel, BPCL, and Reliance Industries are the top gainers on NSE Nifty 50 index whereas the top laggards include Divis Labs, HDFC Bank, Sun Pharma, Adani Ports and SEZ, and Apollo Hospitals.
The NSE Nifty 50 opens up by 0.34% at 22,720.25, while the BSE Sensex gains 0.36% to 74,953.96 in the opening trade.
Shares in the Asia-Pacific region are trading in mixed territory on Wednesday morning. The Asia Dow is trading up by 0.89%, where as the Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading in red, down by 0.54%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is ended higher by 0.57% and the benchmark Chinese index Shanghai Composite is ended up by 0.05%.

According to provisional data available on the NSE, on April 9, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares amounting to a net Rs 593.2 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) purchased shares totaling a net Rs 2,257.2 crore.
